The Heart Project – Young People’s Opportunity
An exciting two-year research project between Spotlight, Kazzum and Queen Mary University, funded by Arts Council England, exploring creative arts and its links to health and wellbeing for young people in Tower Hamlets. Across this next year we will research, develop and reimagine creative health activity in TH.
We’re looking to build a small group of young people who understand the benefits of creative health, to be part of our research, advocacy and campaigns. Please see attached poster & info at the bottom of this email about an upcoming opportunity. Please feel free to share in your networks.
In addition, we will be supporting this group of young people to build a picture of what creative health looks like for young people in Tower Hamlets.
We are looking:
-
For young people who have lived experience/interest in creative health
-
To connect with other CH organisations in TH who work with children and young people.
This project is for young people who are interested in improving health outcomes for young people in Tower Hamlets, through research, activism and creative activity. Across 20 weeks, you will meet with different healthcare professionals and share your experience and knowledge, asking what change could be made to improve services for young people in Tower Hamlets. This programme is open to young people aged 14-19 & will culminate in a sharing of artwork and learning, curated by artist & young people. There will be further opportunities to design and pitch your own creative health projects, in the Easter holidays of 2027.
We are pitching this as a training and development opportunity, not just a creative project. It will take place on Wednesday evenings 5-7pm in the Art and Fashion room at Spotlight, running until March 2027.
You will receive financial contributions towards your time and energy, receiving two £100 vouchers in total for your attendance on the project.
