Trupti is a co-director of deep:black, an international arts and health organisation working with creativity to improve mental health outcomes. She has been working in schools and communities in London for over a decade. She has developed partnerships with schools, mental health organisations, charities and mental health trusts and has delivered commissions for the NHS, the European Commission and the Arts Council England. She has grown the organisation from supporting a small number of participants to supporting hundreds of vulnerable children and young people annually.

As an Art Psychotherapist, she is interested in how visual methodologies, in particular photography and film, can support emotional wellbeing by offering safe spaces for creative self-expression, connection, reflection and growth. She is experienced in facilitating groups and 1-1 sessions and sharing best practice through publication and by offering training to social pedagogues and mental health professionals each year.

Trupti has designed and implemented award winning programmes that are evidence based, co-created with stakeholders with a deep commitment to evaluation and impact. She has designed and delivered photography programmes including ‘Photographing Feelings’ for children and young people to explore their own life experiences. The work has supported young people to reflect on their experiences of violence, racism, isolation and neurodiversity.

Prior to joining deep:black, Trupti had a successful career in broadcast television and was part of the award winning team behind Secret Millionaire, for Channel Four and the BAFTA award winning series ‘The Tower: Tales from East London’.
