A Mindful Gathering – a London LENs Open Event

You are warmly invited to join London LENs members for an afternoon of mindful activity in Russell Square Gardens, London WC1B 4JA

Saturday 9th July 2-4pm. Meet in the centre of the Square.

Spending time outdoors is good for us, yet we often do not pause to engage with our surroundings. Our minds are often too busy to actually be present and fully experience the sights and sounds around us. This workshop will begin with an introduction to a mindful breathing technique, intended to bring us into the present moment. We will then take a walk around the Gardens, following the principles of Shinrin Yoku, or Forest Bathing: we will not be talking, or taking photos, or listening to music. You will then be invited to find a quiet place to sit or be, and to just observe what is happening around you. After a while, you will be given a sheet of paper and invited to markmake, draw, write or tear and make shapes.

We will then retire to the Cafe for tea and to chat about the process. You can share your creations or words if you like but this is not about what we produce, rather it is about the process and being present. Hope to see you there!
