Come along to our group art workshops to meet others, practice creative skills, and explore the benefits of art for our mental wellbeing.

All classes will run from 3:30-5pm at Bethnal Green Mission Church, with refreshments provided and additional options available from the Beehive cafe.

All classes are free of charge, however if you feel able to do so, donations are welcome to help with the running cost of the workshops.

All activities are based at beginner level and are for people to meet together and practice creative activities. All materials are provided and groups are very welcome.

Whislt this is an adults’ workshop, those with children are welcome to bring them along – please email Heather at hello@bgmc.org.uk to confirm this.

The list of activities is as follows:

Friday 20th January – Plant Hanger Making. Assorted ropes to create the hangers and plant pots will be provided. Please note that plants will not be provided, you are welcome to take the plant hangers home and place your own plants in them!

Friday 3rd February – Dried Flower Pendants. Dried flowers and clay to make the pendants will be provided, as well as paint to decorate the pendant further and a varnish to coat.

Friday 17th February and Friday 3rd March – Glass Painting. Assorted glass jars, primer, acrylic paint, sealant and gutta (outliner) will all be provided. Gutta is a henna-like paste used to create an outline that gives a stained glass effect. This workshop is spread over two dates, as the gutta (the outliner) takes over 48 hours to dry, so those wishing to use it can draw their outlines on the glass on the 17th February, and come back to paint and finish their design on the 3rd March.

Friday 17th March – Collaging. Magazines, paper, glue, backing card and various materials will be provided however, please feel free to bring any materials that you would like to work with in particular.
