Workshop Theme: Designing creative health activities for participants with specific health needs

Delivering creative health activities to participants living with complex health or psychosocial conditions often requires specialised knowledge, skills, and support. This workshop will review recent research on the research and impact of working in this way. It will also feature a panel of practitioners who work with different conditions.

Some of the questions we’ll explore in this participatory learning workshop will include:

• What knowledge about specific conditions does an artist benefit from knowing?
• How do you adapt activities to be appropriate and accessible to different participants?
• What skills and training can be beneficial for artists?
• What’s the role of specialist partner organisations or support people, including family?

Creative Health Learning Alliance Collaborative Learning Workshops – General Information

All of our Collaborative Learning Workshops offer a collaborative learning environment where participants will:

• Learn about current issues and models from practicing experts and researchers
• Discuss experiences with other practitioners and be invited to share models and resources
• Inform their own practice with shared knowledge, techniques and resources
• Contribute to future learning opportunities and guidance for the field

Workshops are held on Zoom, and are open to anyone who would like to join regardless of location. Most workshops include a panel discussion and Q&A with invited practitioners/experts . We then use breakout groups and group discussions and include creative learning exercises when appropriate.
