A powerful exhibition grappling with the complex emotions of displacement and exile through photographic self-portraits.

In her first solo exhibition in the UK, the Togolese-born, Belgium-based artist Hélène Amouzou showcases her hand-printed photographs, exploring her lived experience as a migrant. Amouzou uses self-portraiture as a means to recapture her identity and through this exhibition asks important questions around belonging, the body, seeking refuge, and living in limbo. Works on show include include a series created when Amouzou was seeking asylum in Belgium and more recent photographs documenting the artist’s journey back to her homeland.
