Imagined Futures: a free creative opportunity for young people with arthritis

February 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - February 18, 2022 @ 3:00 pm

Free

Do you know a young person aged 11-15 with Arthritis (JIA)? Are they interested in learning more about filmmaking and storytelling?

They can join the Imagined Futures project and meet a group of like-minded young people just like them to explore filmmaking, digital storytelling and drama workshops where we will think about identity and their futures.

The group will meet on Zoom and then come together for a FREE week’s residency at The Unicorn Theatre in London, near London Bridge in February half term 2022 (14th – 18th Feb). During the residency the young people will travel to the theatre each day to participate in artistic activities and finish the week with a sharing to friends and family.

No experience is necessary. They will work with professional artists to learn film, drama and storytelling skills which will culminate in a sharing to friends and family at the end of the week in February.

The project is being led by PhD researcher Anna Woolf, who is interested in collaborating with young people to investigate what is important to them in the development of their identities and health. The project is in collaboration with the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and is funded by Children in Need.
