FreeKeeping Safe: wellbeing support for creative practitioners working in health and criminal justice
Creative practitioners are increasingly delivering health and wellbeing programmes to individuals facing challenging conditions or care settings. Arts Council England has identified mental health and wellbeing support for creative practitioners in health and criminal justice as key to advancing a broader creative agenda and good practice for the creative workforce.
Based on recent research and conversations with the field conducted by Drs Julia Puebla Fortier, Kate Massey-Chase, and James Woodham, this webinar will offer an overview of promising practices for practitioner wellbeing support, explore barriers to accessing support and gaps in provision, and offer considerations for how ACE and others could help address the issue.
The research findings will be discussed by a panel of stakeholders representing ACE, creative health sector support organisations, creative practitioners, and funders.
This webinar will be of interest to artists, commissioners, and partner organisations delivering creative health programmes for:
- challenging health and mental health needs and settings
- youth in challenging circumstances
- older adults, especially those with dementia
- the criminal justice system (youth and adult)

13:20 – 13:50: Speakers to be announced including creative practitioners, sector leads and funders.
