Kensington and Chelsea Creative Conversation 

About this event

An in-person event hosted by Discover South Kensington/Exhibition Road Cultural Group, Kensington + Chelsea Art Week, Kensington and Chelsea Council with special hosts for the session, The Westway Trust.

In consultation with residents, Culture has been identified as one of five key Kensington and Chelsea Council priorities – this includes and embraces arts, museums, galleries, artists, producers, makers and market traders. The One Year Covid-19 Recovery Culture Plan 2020-2026.

To assist with this process – also to create experiences and initiatives that connect people to culture during the re-opening period – this session offers an opportunity to talk about what culture in the borough means to you and how together we can achieve cultural recovery from the pandemic.

We have some big questions that we would like to explore, for example

• What role should Culture play in supporting communities and livelihoods in this altered landscape?
• How can we harness a growing sense of community, as well as new partnership and ways of working, that have emerged as a result of the pandemic?
• What kind of infrastructure do we need in order to support the growth and re-growth cultural enterprises?

But what are your questions? Your Ideas? Your thoughts?

This creative Conversation will once again bring together people living, working and learning in the borough. The session will be run using the Open Space format, with no speakers and no presentations. A safe space is created in order for everyone attending to suggest topics to talk through and to enable people to participants in these discussions. This allows you to input into several different conversations in a single session.

These events are free and open to all. The more voices we have in the room, the more ideas we can bring together. All you need to do is register your place and turn up.
