Small Grants Programme – Arts – HMP Pentonville

We are keen to increase our provision for Young Adults and those on remand by ‘igniting a spark’ which will support their general wellbeing, encourage prisoners to be creative, and use their time in custody to develop life-long musical skills. We want to improve their mental well-being, helping them to develop positive mindsets in a safe space where they can relax and be themselves. We want to expose our prisoners to a variety of music and develop their talents more broadly. We would like to offer music workshops which would provide exposure to a wide variety of music and the opportunity to meet professional musicians which would help to inspire the participants. We want to provide opportunities for the participants to create and perform their own music to build their self-esteem.
