Learn how to draw portraits by taking simple measurements, understanding perspective and learning the ‘value’ in shading. Participants can be expected to be guided through the fundamentals of facial proportions, simple line drawing and the ‘value’ of shading. Upon completion of the workshop you will have created your own self portrait, or a sketch of someone you know or admire. Othersmay be interested in bring to life a face they have only imagined. The event aims to enhance participants’ skills in drawing facial features and their ability to portray the character of their subject.

Historically, portraits depicted the rich and/or the famous. Thanks goodness times have changed! Come along and create your own masterpiece.

Claudette of Udette Arts has exhibited portraits in a range of venues from The Old Town Hall Stratford, to Burgh House Hampstead. She is a qualified and experienced teacher and a featured Arts Council Accelerator Artist. Claudette specialises in expressive portraiture with the knowledge that a creative mind can guide a pencil across paper to produce the most wonderous images.
