Participants needed for Covid-19 pottery study

Participants are needed for research into the development of pottery skills in Great Britain during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The study, led by first year Archaeology DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford Cathy O’Brien, will examine potters’ experiences of working from home with limited access to studios or materials amid the pressures of lockdown. It will also look at the impact of learning through media, such as online video content, social media, and books, alters skill development and how that may impact more traditional educational structures.

To be eligible for the study, you must be:

  • a potter, or have started to learn to pot (handbuilding or throwing) during the Covid-19 pandemic
  • living in Great Britain
  • open to discussing wellbeing
  • aged 18 or over

Those interested in taking part or finding out more about the study can email Cathy O’Brien, visit her Instagram page or her website.
