STARS Creative Workshops for Women

Alongside Tamasha’s production of Mojisola Adebayo’s play STARS at the ICATamasha will be running weekly creative workshops for women (18+), to explore ideas round women and pleasure; how we experience pleasure and how we are cut off from it and disempowered. The group will work with two artists, using art, movement, drama and reflection towards the creation of an installation at the ICA that will provoke conversation and dialogue with the audience.
Workshops are weekly, on Saturdays at the ICA, which is on the Mall, near Trafalgar Square.
STARS follows the character Mrs, who is in search of an orgasm, and the right to ask for pleasure in her life; it also deals with some painful issues, including sexual trauma and misogyny. The workshops aim to create a supportive space in which to explore any stories that participants wish to share, without pressure to share.
Dates:
Drop-in workshops – Feb 11th, Feb 18th, and Feb 25th to get a feel for the project and work with different artists. Time 12-4pm.
