About this event

Kay Davis is a Painter, Illustrator and Textiles Designer based in South East London.

In this workshop, Kay will be demonstrating sustainable block printing techniques that will introduce us to affordable ways in which we can create textile print patterns and designs. By repurposing materials such as packaging and cardboard, we’ll be encouraged to reconsider how we dispose of waste and be inspired to use them for design.

You will need:

• Plain cotton tote bag / plain fabric

• 3-5 sheets of A4 paper

• Foam stamping shapes such as these (if you don’t want to make your own)

• Pre-cut foam shapes in whatever shapes you wish (if you want to make your own stamp designs)

• Block printing ink in colour(s) of your choice

• Ink roller

• Tray

• Polystyrene Sheets (if you want to make your own stamp designs)

• Wet cloth and water for cleaning

• HB Pencil

• Gluestick

• Scrap cardboard

• Newspaper to cover surfaces!
