Bill Graham – The Bradford ‘Left-Shift’

The new Integrated Care System (ICS) came into play in the NHS on the 1st of July. But what does this mean in practice for the VCSE sector, and in particular organisations delivering cultural health activities?

We found out how Bill Graham from the Community Innovation and Development team at Modality, is working to get the NHS to commit to a 1% shift of their budget to VCSE in Bradford over the next few years.

Nick-named the Bradford ‘left-shift’, we find out more about how shifting just 1% of Bradford’s local health budget (approx. £2.3 Million per annum) has demonstrated significant system change, encourage local community-led solutions, make use of existing assets, address health inequalities and benefit their communities including the most vulnerable, from inclusion health to those living with rural poverty.

In this session, Bill presented the Bradford ‘left-shift’ strategy and talk about how this commitment is progressing along with a Q&A about the approach.
